Update on Academics

Thanks to all the parents/guardians for making sure ABC participants completed the academics last week. It was a great effort and it helps our kids understand the meaning of commitment and accountability for making commitments.

For all the kids completing Moby, we sent “good vibes” (it’s a Moby thing) through their Moby account. You can help them access that on the 3rd tab of the home page where they can also see their time.

To keep it interesting for the kids, we have created a contest in Moby for this week.  It is a writing challenge about what they’ve learned at ABC and what they like best about ABC. You can find this challenge by clicking on the writing assignments icon. We also sent them a message which they can find in their messages right next to the vibes icon. They should look at their messages every week because we will be sending them messages and they can send us messages back.

Part of this week’s Moby Assignment is a writing challenge. Please spend time this week thinking about you’ve learned at ABC Pilsen and what you like best about ABC Pilsen. Then write about it.

We want you to do your best and write the best essay, poem, story about ABC Pilsen that you can. We will select several to highlight on our website and recognize students at our end of summer celebration.

We are looking for your best effort. Thoughtful writing, good grammar and correct spelling will be considered when we choose the finalists.

NOTE:  The kids will notice that the amount of time the writing assignment takes will not equal what Moby records for time.  I tried it so i know.  Therefore, completion of the writing assignment equals 30 minutes of Moby time required for this week.
