Here's what people are saying about ABC Pilsen.

Alicia

My name is Alicia, and I am 10 years old. ABC Pilsen has been good for me in many ways. I only have gym in school once a week, and I am glad to have a place to play basketball and exercise. It also helps me meet other people from the community who like to play what I love, basketball. Also I like how Coach Alex does not separate us by “boys and girls” and he has us play coed. I like how he does not treat the girls differently, like previous coaches who I have had. For example, when I was playing flag football one year, my coach put me as hiker and took me out right when I was done. We won the championships that year, but I did not feel like I had won, because I had not done anything. That coach made me feel like an outsider, and that Coach still does not even know it. I am glad that Coach Alex does not run his program like that. ABC Pilsen is the place where I belong, that helps me play to the best of my ability. It will potentially help me be a super star basketball player in high school, college, and hopefully even play in the WNBA.

ABC Pilsen has been great for me and my family. I have two girls who have been part of the program for the past two years. I have seen tremendous amount of growth in both of my girls. Not only in their basketball skills but I have seen them mature and become more confident. The program is a great avenue for our children in Pilsen and I’m glad that there are people out there like Coach Anaya who is volunteering his time to work with our children.

Just wanted to share my extreme satisfaction with the program at ABC Pilsen. My son, Diego has had an incredibly positive experience attending your basketball camp on Saturdays. The program stresses basketball fundamentals, but just as important has been the focus on hard work, determination, teamwork and doing things the “right” way. Coach Anaya and his staff are never satisfied with going through the motions but always are great about explaining why things are done the way they are. The camps stress dedication to the “team” as well as getting the most out of each player’s ability. Additionally, Coach Anaya is always reinforcing important life lessons such as exercising and healthy diet all while making sure the kids understand the need to stay focused in the classroom as a prerequisite to playing basketball at ABC Pilsen. While Diego loves to attend the weekly camp sessions, his favorite part about ABC Pilsen is having a chance to show off what he has learned in games against neighborhood schools with his good friends. I would gladly recommend your program to any parent looking to build a love of basketball for their child

Yes, good camp. Thanks again for the invitation. Isaiah told me it was very easy for him to determine The ABC Pilsen athletes from the crowd because they were the only ones with their shirts tucked in. The ABC Pilsen program develops accountability, leadership and respect which is attributed to the mentoring style of the coaching. I don’t know if my son would learn those things at any other athletic program.

Before participating in the ABC Pilsen Program, our son enjoyed playing basketball, but did not show great interest in the sport. I believe it had to do with not being confident in his ability to play this sport. His attitude and confidence have changed dramatically since joining the ABC Pilsen Program. Coach Alex makes it clear to the kids that anyone can play basketball, no matter their height, talent or any doubts they may have. The camp is tough and the kids are challenged, but coach Alex is energetic in his motivation and the kids believe in his message and in themselves. Our son “loves” camp and is excited when Saturday comes around because he knows he’ll get to improve his skills while having fun. He now dreams of being in the NBA and knows he has to work hard – but he’s ok with that because he enjoys the challenge –‐thanks to the ABC Pilsen Program.
